One of the most elaborate houses in Kosice Slovakia is also one of the most legendary . It is called the beggar house. There was a poor man who sat and begged for most of his life but it turns out he spent very little of what he was given. After he had collected a sufficient amount of money he built this very artistic and ornate house complete with a statue of himself tipping his hat in thanks to the town for its generosity. The best line I ever heard from a beggar was..."sir can you spare a few coins." when I said no... the beggar said "then sir you had better join me."Sunday, January 10, 2010
